About

Hi, I'm Ben Luthy.

Hi, I'm Ben Luthy. I've worked in cybersecurity since 2008, across environments that rarely share a résumé: from DoD and U.S. Army mission-critical systems to one of the world's largest retailers. Along the way I've built and matured security governance programs from the ground up.

Today I'm the Security Governance Manager at Costco, leading a team responsible for enterprise IT policy, standards, and risk across the business. Before that, I spent several years in cybersecurity consulting supporting federal and defense clients. I also serve as Program Director for the cybersecurity programs at Champlain College Online where I still instruct as a Senior Adjunct Professor.

This blog is where I think out loud about cybersecurity, security governance, control mapping, and, more recently, applied AI. I learn by building and hands-on, and I try to be honest about what works and what doesn't.

If you want to connect, I'm on LinkedIn and always happy to talk shop.
